Happy Birthday, Matthew!

Two years old! We can't believe it. Matt and I were talking about how blessed we are and how thankful we are to have our family. Every day with Matthew and Natalie has been a gift from God and we are truly blessed.
Opening presents. Here's Mack! Matthew has a new best friend. His name is "Mack." He is the semi-truck from the movie Cars. Matthew's questions all day long used to be, "Where Daddy Go?", "Go see Daddy?" (repeat 350 times and then you'll get a glimpse of my day). Now replace Daddy with Mack and repeat. It is really cute, but I feel sorry for Matt, now that he's in 2nd place. He lines up all of his cars and plays all day long with those things. Ever since Grandma was out here a couple weeks ago and bought him the Cars movie, it's been non-stop. We had a small birthday dinner on Cars paper plates and opened up lots of Cars presents then he went to bed completely exhausted after gladly saying "Good night" to all of his cars, but having a very difficult time saying "Good night" to Mack.
Here we are eating birthday cake with our friends, the CARS.
Daddy wanted Matthew to give Mommy a "thank-you kiss" for all of the presents, but notice how I have to actually lay on top of best-friend Mack in order to get that kiss?! Natalie had a doctor's appointment yesterday and weighs in at 11 pounds 3 ounces (75%) and her length is a long 23 1/2 inches (90%)! I just hope we won't be shopping for size 15 heels by the time prom rolls around! Of course her head is only 25%, just like Matthew's. I think the peanut head is a Dykstra trait. I still wear youth baseball caps.

Natalie is sleeping much better and actually enjoying car rides now. Driving home from church is not a scream-fest anymore, thank goodness! She is lessening her fussy times and is smiling a ton. She's a pure joy.

Matt and I are both becoming quite busy at school with my classes and coaching our sports. We've worked it out so that we only have a babysitter twice a week and I get to bring the kids powerwalking once a week. Matt stays home in the morning the other two days. We're doing well, but it gets hectic at times.

Natalie and I leave tomorrow morning for my cousin's wedding in Yakima, WA. I hope she's good on the cross-country flight!

Well, that's it for now. Love to all!
