Happy Easter!

Today was a day like many many Easter Sundays growing up in Michigan. I woke up and taught my kids how to say, "He is Risen, He is Risen, indeed!" Then we went to church, sang Handel's Messiah, came home and took family pictures in the warm sun, but cold cold cold air temperature. I can't tell you how many times when I was young, we'd be standing outside, either by the beautiful landscape in the front yard, or in the backyard against the wood rail fence FREEZING! But, Mom needed that perfect picture! And how Rob made that task so difficult! Well, the "Robert" in Matthew Robert Thomas came out. I told him when we were in the car (the boy always needs to know the agenda - which also comes from Uncle Rob), that I wanted to take one good picture. Well, he complied for his individual shot and then that was it. Thanks "Rob"!

After a nice ham dinner and naps, we hid Easter Eggs in the basement for the kids. They were totally into it. Natalie's face lit up every time she'd see an egg and ran towards it to grab it. Matthew was a great hunter, too - especially since they were in plain view.

Yesterday we took the kids to Capri's for some water ice. It was a lot warmer yesterday. This was Natalie's first experience with her own water ice. Every time any of us took a bite of our own cups, she would say "MO" and come running up to us with her mouth wide open. Needless to say, she loved it! He was Blue Raspberry, she was sugar-free Tangerine. We kept saying, "stick your tongue out, show us your tongue!" so she put her finger on her tongue, trying to show us.
So, I saw a commercial on TV the other day for a 99 cent kid's meal at Burger King - toy included! Yeah. Quite the deal. So, blame it on my Dutch heritage or a pregnancy urge, but regardless, I strapped the kids in the car and drove 15 minutes to Paoli for Burger King. No comments about the gas expense not really saving me any money on the kids' meals, please. Anyhoo, here's King Matthew and Queen Natalie!

I certainly hope that baby #3 is as much of a ham as babies #1 & #2 are! I hope SHE'S as photogenic too!! :)

What a fun Easter. Might as well make it a family tradition to force the kids out into the cold for pictures. I almost made up an Easter basket for Eli, but stopped myself b/c I knew I would just end up eating all the chocolate. Oh, and I'll blame the Burger King on the pregnancy. I had huge Taco Bell cravings when I was pregnant - made worse by the fact that there are no Taco Bells in Germany. :(

We didn't have to get the traditional family pics on Easter this year with just Rob and I in town. We missed you all! I'm glad you could get a taste of the "Rob" experience you talk about, though!!
