On my own...

My mommy left. :( Two weeks of love, service, laundry, organizing, groceries, meals, entertainment, taking care of Matthew and Natalie, getting the Christmas dishes out, oh and the Starbucks! Hot PSLs, Iced PSLs, with whip, without whip. Oh how I'll miss my Pumpkin Spice Lattes delivered with love from Mom. My mom did EVERYTHING around the house. I miss my mommy. Thanks for EVERYTHING, Mommy! But good news! I get another mommy here on Friday! How lucky am I?!? I like having my mommies around and the kids LOVE having their Grandma, Grandpop, Grammie, and PopPop here. Grandma was packing to leave today and Natalie said, "I want to go to Michigan by myself, Mommy." And then when we dropped Grandma off at the airport, Natalie said, "I miss Grandma, Mommy!"
Matthew has been the best older brother in the world. I'm assuming he's much sweeter than his father was to his uncles and auntie. He loves sitting next to Libby, kissing Libby, and talking to her. He was sitting on the couch next to me and he started kicking his legs in excitement and I asked him what he was thinking. He said, "I'm just so excited to have two sisters!" Today he kissed Libby and said, "I love baby Libby so much, Mommy. I love you so much, too." Precious.
Natalie is learning how to use her gentle hands. She loves Libby and wants to be near her, but she doesn't realize how near she actually gets - like nearly sitting on her. She is very interested, but quickly gets interested in other things, so supervision and quick hands are a must! Right now Natalie has a cold that has affected her voice. Mom called it her "sexy voice." She sounds so funny. I got a video of it, but it's on Mom's camera and I'll have to call Mom and walk her through how to upload that so we can all hear it.
Libby is sleeping tremendously. She is giving me 4-6 hours at night and sometimes I have to wake her up! She certainly has her fussy times during the day, which is new to Matt and I, but if that makes her tired for nighttime sleep, I'll deal. The first two nights home from the hospital she was awake for a few hours from 2-5am. After a strict talking-to, she knows that's not acceptable. Here Libby's wearing my FaFa's outfit that he wore home from the hospital 85 years ago!
I shouldn't say that I'm on my own. I'm not. I have the best husband. He's very sensitive to me and takes on a ton around the house and especially the wrestling duties with the kids. They need to be loved a little rough every once in a while. He's taught them how to wrestle gently and one of the most favorite thing the kids like to do is wrestle. Now that you know a little more about Matthew's loving and sensative behavior and Natalie working on her "gentle hands" I'll show you a picture of what their wrestling looks like. You can imagine who calls out for help first. Hint: the one usually on the bottom of the pile. Natalie also has some tricks up her sleeve, like de-pantsing Matthew during the brawl. It's unfair. He can't fight back because he giggles too hard.

I know how hard it is when Mommy leaves! But you're lucky to have so much help and have family (relatively) close by. The stories of the kids cracked me up. What a good brother Matthew is. And good for Natalie for learning how to fight dirty!

Oh man...after that description, I even miss your mommy! :) How wonderful that she was there for two weeks with you though!

And oh, little Libby Lou, how precious you are. I can't wait to meet you!

Rebecca, I love your son. He is, quite possibly, the sweetest boy in the world. He's been sweet from the very beginning. I can only hope that Josh is half as sweet someday. :)
