My sister came for a visit this weekend. It had been over a year since we had seen each other - too long! I had fun watching my kids love up on her. "I want to go with Uncle Debbie!" and "Uncle Debbie sing Matthew and Natalie songs" and on and on and on. I wasn't allowed to do anything, by the kids' standards. Only Debbie could do it. Shucks Darn! I took advantage of the extra set of hands and ran some errands with Debbie and the kids. And by errands I mean shopping. 75% off shoes at Nordstrom Rack?!? SOLD!
Back to Debbie. Matt stayed home with the kids and she and I got to go out for my dear friend's birthday. I'm glad she got to meet some of my great friends here.
Little Libby is getting bigger. She's filling out and lengthening quite a bit. I put a size 3month dress on her that Natalie wore well into her 5th month, and it wasn't a dress. It came up to her hips, so I put it with pants. She's really that long! She has been smiling and cooing a ton. It sure tickles my heart when she smiles!
Natalie has been saying "yum" for "yes" lately. I don't know where that came from. It sounds like she's going to say "yup" but ends it with an "ummm." Too funny. Today she started calling Matthew, "Ma-few." No more "Man-ew!" So sad. I loved her nickname for him. Oh, and she has awesome hair.
When we're at the table eating our meals, Matthew has gotten into the habit of saying "downtown" and "uptown" and talking in the third person. A common phrase we hear is, "Matthew's milk is downtown and Natalie's milk is uptown." That means that Matthew is drinking his milk and it's almost gone. Natalie still has a lot of milk in her cup. I have no idea where this came from. Something else I have no idea where it came from is Matthew's label for certain body parts. A few months ago he told me his ankle was hurting. So, naturally I look down toward his foot. Not so much. He said, "No MOM! THIS ankle." He was pointing at his third leg. See? Where does he get this? Then just the other day I was nursing Libby- You know where this is going- Matthew sits down next to me and says, "Hey mom, I can feed Libby, too." As I respond with, "Oh yeah? why do you say that?" he's lifting up his shirt and he says, "See look, I have elbows, too!" He could see that I was ready to laugh and when I told him that they were called nipples he laughed hysterically and said, "No they're not!" He thought I was kidding with him. When Matt came home I asked Matthew to show Daddy his elbows. He lifted up his shirt and showed him the nips. Matt corrected him the same way I did, but Matthew didn't believe us!

Sounds like Matthew needs some anatomy lessons! Funny stories. And little Libby - I just LOVE her smile!
Unbelievable! That is so funny that he didn't believe you guys. Natalie likes to feed her babies that way too! She told our sitter that she was supposed to feed Amaya with her belly, not her bottle.
