Kung Fu Panda Fightling

If you'd like the full effect, play the song (imagine the kids dancing) and then read...

(If it doesn't load, click the pop-out player button and it'll open in a new window)
You read that right. The song says, "Everybody was Kung Fu fighting, your mind becomes fast as lightning, although the future is a little bit frightening..." so of course any 3-year-old could make this mistake. We have a new favorite activity in the basement. And believe it or not, Natalie started this! I have the pictures to prove it. She starts taking all of the cushions off of the couch and Matthew starts giggling, gives me a play-by-play and then joins in. Once all of the cushions are in a heap on the ground, they do "Kung Fu Panda Fightling" moves. Let me just say that we do have new cushions wrapped in the garage, waiting to be used once the children are a little older. If you look closely, you can see ink all over and broken zippers on these poor Kung Fu mats.

Here she is trying to get the torque on the cushion to heave-ho it on the ground. The first position didn't work so she switched to a new angle, added the tongue and that did the trick!

I think being on the "beautiful pole vault pit" (is that the correct respectful term, Rach?) gave them this at-home do-it-yourself idea. Matthew does flips and Natalie just runs and dives or flops face-first into the pile.

The song definitely does add that certain something to the post. :)

I love the look on Matthew's face - like he's getting away with something deliciously naughty. And Natalie is all concentration. Love the music - I can just picture a little dance party.

You said it right, Bec's!!! Thanks! Sounds like you might have a pole vaulter on your hands with Natalie. I used to do this same thing when I was little. I'd love to join in!
